About Me

Hi, I’m Kirsten. I loved drawing from the time I was really small. I definitely answered the question “what do you want to be when you grow up?” with “an artist”. That eventually shifted a bit and I ended up at East Carolina University pursuing a degree in graphic design. However, while there I rediscovered my love for art. I took a painting survey course and was incredibly intimidated. I hadn’t painted since I was in elementary school, but after a lot of practice (and a lot of wonky paintings) I fell in love with it. After taking that class, I painted my family dog as a Mothers Day gift for my mom, and that’s where my love for pet portraits began. Once she shared the painting with her friends, commission requests started to trickle in, and that led me to where I am today. I’m so extremely grateful to everyone who has and continues to support my art.
